WOW! There are a lot of flowers in Texas in April. Good thing film cameras are a thing of the past because we took a lot of photos! We were very lucky to be there during the Texas Bluebonnet bloom. 😊 They bloom all over the Texas Hill Country, often in masses covering entire fields and roadsides. They are a kind of Lupine.

Here are some other photos of the flowers we saw. Liz loves wildflowers, in case you can't tell! Everything from Texas Paintbrush, Texas Stork's Bill, Verbena, Texas Mountain Laurels, Beardtongues, Beach Evening Primrose....

Texas also has a good variety of other desert plants like Yucca and cactus. We were lucky to catch some of the spring cactus blooms!

Part of our adventures is to keep track of our plants using an app called Seek which helps us identify plants whenever we travel or go hiking at home. Liz has over 240 observations and Clint is just breaking 110. It's really fun!

Some historical trivia: President John's wife, "Ladybird" (Yes, that was her real name), made it her duty to have millions of wildflowers and seedlings all over Texas. That's how the wildflowers are all over Texas. They ARE beautiful!!!
